The Commitment
Climate change is one of the greatest threats humanity has ever faced. The science is clear: radical and rapid action is needed to ensure a livable planet for generations to come. Every person we reach with our stories is an opportunity to create a sustainable culture. Every tonne of emissions avoided is a vote for a better future.
As employers and content producers, we have a responsibility to our employees, artists, audiences and crews to create a safe environment - in every sense of the word, both now and in the future. We are committed to building a resilient, net zero motion picture industry and recognize the urgent need to reduce waste and emissions and produce content that speaks to society about this crucial challenge.
We therefore commit to take action in each of the following priority areas on an annual basis:

Action on Screen
Content has the power to support behaviour change and help audiences of all ages understand the current crisis. We will look for opportunities to put climate action on-screen, from the inclusion of green ‘nudges’ to the creation of climate-related narratives.
Action on Emissions
We are in a decisive decade - the current best science tells us that global emissions must be halved by 2030. We will take steps to track our emissions and seize opportunities to adopt best practices for emissions reductions in our companies and productions.
Action on Waste
A sustainable industry is one that reduces consumption and controls waste. We will take steps to understand our use of materials and drive actions within our business that reduces the use of materials and keeps waste out of the landfill.
Collective Action
Collaboration, shared learning and collective actions allow us to accomplish more than we could alone. We will help drive the adoption of green practices by collaborating and sharing knowledge with other producers and industry interest-holders. We will contribute to the annual impact report by sharing our yearly progress towards our goals and commitments.
