A Climate Playbook for Canadian Animation
Drawn to Change: A Climate. Playbook for Canadian Animation is a practical tool for animators, producers and studios to understand the environmental impact of the Canadian animation industry, and access tools and resources to reduce the footprint and emissions of their production pipelines.
This guide includes five chapters:
Chapter 1: Introduction explores the role animation can have in protecting our natural world. Sustainability is not just a value, there are real business reasons to embrace climate action, and risks to inaction.
Chapter 2: The Carbon in Cartoons explains the role of carbon emissions, carbon calculations, and how studios can begin to view their operational and production activities through an emissions lens.
Chapter 3: Your Production Playbook pulls it all together in a practical producer playbook - how to include sustainability planning in your kick off meetings, tips for each role of your team, and more.
Chapter 4: World-Building for World-Saving covers content and creative - how the writers and world-builders of our industry can weave purposeful climate content into their stories.
Chapter 5: The Road Ahead reminds us to look out the window, to see the world and be inspired to protect it.
